Hailing from the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand, Matthew found inspiration in the raw beauty of nature and the rich multicultural tapestry that surrounded him. Influenced by the storytelling traditions of American folk and rock n roll, the authenticity of the Americana genre, Matthew embarked on a musical journey as a drummer/songwriter leading him to the vibrant music scene of Los Angeles where he started to record, produce and perform his own music.
With influences ranging from Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Barry Gibb, his debut album ‘The Castle’ is Matthew’s introspective look into love, death, betrayal and redemption. All things he has faced and overcome.
